Description
Set in a castle dating back to 1786, the Melville Castle Hotel is located within a fifty acre wooded estate on the banks of the North Esk River, six miles south east of Edinburgh. Each of the castle's 30 guestrooms is individually designed with unique furnishings. All are equipped with cable television, safes, tea and coffee making facilities and and minibars. Bathrooms have power showers and offer Gilchrist & Soames toiletries. A wireless Internet service (surcharge) cover all rooms. Guests can dine in the brasserie, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner in the vaulted cellars of the castle, and enjoy pre dinner drinks in the library bar. The hotel can provide full catering for events such as wedding receptions and conferences, and offers a ballroom, boardroom, sitting room and study. Room service is available and the hotel also offers concierge services and can arrange bookings for a wide range of country pursuits. Castle enthusiasts will find many of Scotland's magnificent castles within easy driving distance, such as Craigmillar Castle and Castlaw Hill Fort, both within four miles of the hotel.
